About this profile
Jamb and casing made as one set
We make the jamb and the casing together, so the wood, the profile and the finish match around the door opening. Tell us which pieces you need and how each one will be finished.
Before we quote, we go through the wood, the visible grade, the moisture content, the sections and the packing with you. Wood varies from piece to piece, so you approve a sample that shows the variation to expect.

Custom options
Coordinated components
We plan the jamb and casing sizes together, around your door and how it is fitted.
Wood and grade
Tell us the wood, the visible grade and the finish your market expects.
Sample first
You approve the profile and the natural look of the wood on a sample before production starts.
How it’s made
See how it’s made in 3D
Follow the casing through our line step by step, then take it apart to see the two glued strips, the gesso coat and the primer.
Drag to turn it
The 3D view is not available in this browser. The steps below describe the same process.
-
Solid wood boards are dried and planed flat.
-
The boards are ripped into a face strip and a return strip, and a moulder shapes and sands both.
-
The return strip is glued to the edge of the face strip and pressed, making the L-shaped casing.
-
A thin gesso coat goes on through a die shaped like the section, over the face, the corner and the return.
-
The gesso is dried and sanded smooth along the whole length.
-
A white primer coat finishes the casing. It is ready for the final paint.

Product FAQ
Common questions
Which wood species can be used for the jamb and casing?
Our catalogue jamb and casing is solid pine. If you need another wood, tell us which one and we will tell you whether we can supply it.
Can the jamb and casing be supplied as a coordinated set?
Yes. Send the door construction, wall thickness, jamb sizes and casing profile, and we make them as one set.
Can the surface be natural or primed?
Yes, both. Primed casing gets gesso and a white primer, ready for your final paint. Natural casing has no coating.
How is natural wood variation handled?
Solid wood always varies in grain and colour. You approve a sample that shows the visible grade and the range you accept, and we work to it.
What is required for a firm quotation?
Send the drawing or sample, the wood, finish, quantity and destination. The minimum order is one 20ft container, negotiable, and custom orders take 15–30 days.
