How it’s made

Follow the casing through our line step by step, then take it apart to see the veneer core, the gesso coat and the primer.

Drag to turn it

The 3D view is not available in this browser. The steps below describe the same process.

  1. Thin wood veneers are glued with the grain running one way and pressed together into an LVL billet.

  2. The billet is cut into strips and a moulder shapes the casing section — here a flat casing with an eased outer edge.

  3. The raw profile is sanded to take off fibres and burrs before it is coated.

  4. A thin gesso coat goes on through a die shaped like the section. It covers the face and both edges and fills small gaps between veneers.

  5. The gesso is dried and sanded smooth, so the face is even along the whole length.

  6. A white primer coat finishes the casing. It is ready for the final paint.

Product FAQ

Common questions

What does LVL mean?

LVL stands for laminated veneer lumber: thin wood veneers glued together in layers to make a stable core. We prime it so it is ready for your final paint.

Can HUAYI reproduce an existing casing section?

Yes. Send a drawing with dimensions or a physical sample, and we make a sample for your approval before production.

Is the white primer the final finish?

No. The primer is a base coat, ready for your final paint. Tell us which paint you use and you can test it on a sample.

Are fixed sizes and MOQ available?

Yes. The standard sections are listed on this page, and you can ask us which are in stock. The minimum order is one 20ft container, negotiable, and custom orders take 15–30 days.

What should a door factory send first?

The casing or jamb drawing, the core you want, the lengths, the primer, your trial or annual quantity and your packing needs.
